SURVEY: Selling online from the Isle of Man-Limitations & Opportunities
12 July 2024
Business Isle of Man seeks to gain feedback from Isle of Man businesses operating a business to consumer model that involves selling through digital platforms or their own websites.
We have received a selection of feedback from various conversations, highlighting the issues that businesses face when trying to use platforms such as Shopify Payments, Instagram Shop, their own websites, and other platforms to connect with their customers and sell their products and services online.
In response to this feedback, Business Isle of Man is keen to begin working on ways to support Isle of Man businesses that are selling through digital platforms. We recognise that this can be a crucial part of your business model for future growth and accessing new markets.
The first stage of this work is to identify which platforms are causing issues for Isle of Man businesses and to understand the nature and scale of these issues. Therefore, we invite all businesses that are currently operating, have previously operated, or have attempted to operate in the digital marketplace, either locally or off the Island, to complete the survey below.

We also encourage you to share this survey with other members of the business community who sell online. We believe that by combining our feedback and experiences, we can build a clear picture and formulate an effective action plan moving forward.
As part of this initiative, we are also seeking volunteer businesses willing to work closely with Business Isle of Man to resolve these issues. If you are interested, please indicate this on the survey. If you have any concerns about the contents of the survey or any questions for the Business Isle of Man Team on this topic, please email contact-business@gov.im.
