Reports
Business Isle of Man commissioned a series of reports from CACI to create a bespoke demographic segmentation of the Island. This will be used to benchmark the Isle of Man against other parts of the UK, for marketing, business development, and other purposes.
Approach:
CACI created a correlation model from 2021 census data to discover which are the most similar postcode sectors in the UK to each census district of the Isle of Man. An Acorn profile of the Isle of Man is then calculated from the dominant Acorn groups of the most similar postcode sectors.
CACI then created a separate correlation model using the discovered Acorn profile of the Isle of Man to match it to towns across the UK.
Acorn:
Acorn is CACI’s consumer segmentation model which combines geography with a range of demographics and lifestyle data sources to group the entire population into 5 Categories, 17 Groups and 62 Types.
Business Isle of Man has recently commissioned internationally-renowned consultants CACI to produce a socio-demographic prospectus for the Isle of Man. This prospectus provides new insight and context to the Isle of Man’s population and spending profile, which will be of interest to investors, retailers, and property developers.
CACI uses ACORN (A Classification of Residential Neighbourhoods) a powerful targeting model which combines geography with demographics such as age and lifestyle information in order to help with analysis of the different types of people and areas within a country.
Among other datasets, the report provides information on the social and demographic makeup of the Isle of Man’s population, using data collected through the five-yearly Census and surveys on spending habits.
