New - Winter Event Scheme

For Winter 24/25 additional funding is available to smaller events held in single hospitality and leisure venues. Up to £1,500 per venue is available for events taking place between 1st November 2024 – 31st March 2025. As with the main route, this can cover up to 80% of the costs associated with an event. Collaborations between businesses are encouraged and, in this instance, the funding per venue could be combined. Example of events eligible for extended support within hospitality venues include but are not limited to , live music, quiz nights (excluding any prizes), film screenings, and comedy nights.

About the Domestic Event Fund

This Fund provides support for up to 80% of eligible costs to event organisers and local authorities to develop exciting new events which will drive footfall and increase spending with nearby businesses. This initiative was first launched in 2020 and to date has encouraged over 200,000 people to attend unique events taking place all over the Island. These have included shows, local markets, family fun days, and festivals.

How does the fund work?

Organisers interested in applying for the Fund should review the guidelines to confirm their eligibility and can direct any questions to eventfund@gov.im.

To apply, please complete the application form providing:

  • Details and description of the event
  • A breakdown of the costs involved and other sources of income funding the event
  • How the event would provide value to local businesses and support the community

Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and limitations to funding are based on town population size and number of businesses that could benefit from such events.

Where the application is successful the applicant will be notified of the offer in writing by the Domestic Event Fund Manager and the terms and conditions that would apply upon acceptance.

Eligible costs

Under both routes, eligible costs for reimbursement include but are not limited to:

  • Equipment Hire
  • Entertainment
  • Marketing
  • Insurance
  • Health & Safety

The Department reserves the right to withdraw an offer of assistance at its discretion. Although unusual this circumstance could arise if an applicant fails to comply with terms and conditions or if the Department believes that any information submitted as part of the application is incorrect or untrue. 

Where the application is refused, the applicant will be advised of the decision and the reasons for it.
