Domestic Event Fund
About the Domestic Event Fund
The Fund provides support for up to 80% of eligible costs to event organisers and local authorities looking to deliver exciting new events that will increase footfall and boost spending in the Island’s city, towns, and villages. This initiative aims to foster vibrant communities and support the retail, leisure, and hospitality sectors in line with the Local Economy Strategy.
Priority is given to new events, although returning events may be considered if they include significant new elements. Organisers of brand-new events can now also apply for in-principal support for up to three years.
How does the fund work?
Organisers interested in applying for the Fund should review the guidelines to confirm their eligibility and can direct any questions to eventfund@gov.im.
To apply, please complete the application form providing:
- A description of the event, including dates and location
- A breakdown of event costs and other income sources
- Estimated footfall/attendance
- How the event would provide value to local businesses and support the community
- Confirmation of relevant insurances
- A summary of planned promotional activity
Where the application is successful the applicant will be notified of the offer in writing along with the terms and conditions that would apply upon acceptance. Applications must be submitted and an offer of funding received before the event takes place. Retrospective applications, or events that proceed without a confirmed offer letter, will not be eligible for funding.

Eligible costs
Eligible costs for reimbursement include but are not limited to:
- Entertainment (including some travel and accommodation)
- Equipment hire
- Logistics and event management fees
- Marketing and event photography
- Health & safety and insurance costs
Events benefit both participating businesses and local suppliers, so organisers are encouraged to use local providers wherever possible.
Please note - The Department reserves the right to withdraw an offer of assistance at its discretion. Although unusual this circumstance could arise if an applicant fails to comply with terms and conditions or if the Department believes that any information submitted as part of the application is incorrect or untrue. Where the application is refused, the applicant will be advised of the decision and the reasons for it.
All claims must be supported by appropriate evidence of payment—such as fully paid invoices or signed confirmation from suppliers and performers. Final payments will only be made once all supporting documentation has been reviewed and approved by the Department.
